The meeting will start on Monday, February 22, 2010 with two Practical Clinics, a new addition this year, followed by our Opening Reception.  On Tuesday there will be a full day of Scientific Symposia and abstract presentations.  The Scientific Symposia include:  Debate the Experts; Oral Abstracts; The Leaders; Award Abstracts and Large and Giant Aneurysms and Management of Dural Fistulae.  The meeting will again have 5 exciting luncheon seminars for you to choose from.  Those topics include:  Management of Incompletely Treated or Recurrent Aneurysms; Multi Modality Management of Grade 4 or 5 AVMs; State of Flow Diversion in Cerebrovascular Lesions; Update on Vascular Trials and Endarterectomy versus Stent Extra Cranial Carotid Disease.

REGISTRATION AND HOUSING ARE NOW OPEN.
You many now register for the 2010 AANS/CNS Cerebrovascular Section Annual Meeting and make your housing at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk on-line here.    The complete Preliminary Program will be available in late November.
The Executive Committee of the CV Section is offering complimentary registration for the February 22-23, 2010 meeting if you are registered for the International Stroke Conference (ISC). Proof of your ISC registration is Required and must be faxed along with the CV Section Annual Meeting Form to 800-681-1055 (US only) or 847-759-6955 (International). You CANNOT register on-line for this registration Type. This registration type is NOT available on-site in San Antonio. If you register for the CV Section Annual Meeting first and we must refund your registration fee the standard Cancellation schedule will apply.  The appropriate Practical Clinic fees will apply and are not included in the complimentary registration offer.

In 1960, Dr. Luessenhop, with fellow Georgetown neurosurgeon William T. Spence, pioneered a procedure in which he was able to slow the dangerous flow of blood from an enlarged artery by using a handmade plastic pellet. The lifesaving procedure, a new approach to the treatment of aneurysms and certain brain abnormalities, is now considered the beginning of intravascular surgery
